After being postponed for 2 years, the 2020 Invictus Games took place in the Netherlands and we were honoured to have been the official transport provider for Team UK!
National Express Transport Solutions brand, The Kings Ferry, operated the hire with 6 accessible coaches including a wheelchair-accessible double-decker.
The journey to The Hague began in the early hours of the morning on Thursday 14th April with Team UK competitors setting off from Brunel University with their friends and family to head to the Netherlands.
A total of 230 passengers traveled via Eurotunnel over to Calais and then onwards to The Hague, where the Invictus Games began on Saturday 16th April.
“National Express is committed to supporting the Armed Forces Community. We are an official partner of the Royal British Legion and an Armed Forces Covenant signatory.
“It's wonderful to be able to extend this support by ensuring the Team UK competitors and their friends and family travel safely and comfortably by coach to The Hague. We wish them the best of luck!”
Ian Fraser, Managing Director South East, National Express Transport Solutions
The closing ceremony took place on Friday 22nd April and the competitors and their families returned to the UK on Saturday 23rd April.
