On 29th June 2022, National Express Transport Solutions exhibited at the UK's most prominent business travel event for 2 days at ExCel London.
The theme of this year’s Business Travel Show stand was sustainability. This year’s theme, as detailed by our stand design, was to demonstrate our improved sustainability approach to a greener way of travel - encouraging a modal shift from cars to mass transit.
As such, we were featured on the show’s Ethical Travel Trail. The trail took visitors on a journey across the show floor highlighting companies that champion sustainability, diversity, carbon neutrality and human rights to challenge behaviours for the planet's good.
Visitors had the opportunity to enter our sustainability competition where they were in with a chance to win a sustainable hamper from The Goodness Project. The hamper featured the following items: an award-winning organic, vegan Chianti Red Wine from Tuscany with a selection of organic sweet and savoury delights including Chocolate, Tea, Biscuits, Jam and more delicious, Sweet and Savoury products.
Entrants had to guess how many 53-seater coaches were equal to the 6436 tonnes of CO2 savings our Bath Road Central staff-shuttle service saves a year. The closest answer won one lucky entrant the sustainability hamper with a guesstimate of 555 coaches, just 87 coaches shy of the correct answer of 642.
Bath Road Central is a staff shuttle service operated by Stewarts Coaches, part of National Express Transport Solutions, 5 days a week for 50 weeks a year. This service consists of 3 coaches travelling a total of 395km a day. On average, 390 passengers use this shuttle each day.
