The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity provides emotional, physical and financial well-being support to construction workers and their families. Lighthouse has been a pillar to the construction community since 1956.
Lighthouse provides free resources to support construction workers via a 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline, App and fundraising events such as the Four Peaks challenge.
The charity helps people within the construction community deal with issues such as bereavement, mental health, support after onsite trauma and coping with illnesses.
Lighthouse Club organised a 4-day four peaks challenge (11-15 May) that involved climbing Mount Snowdon (1085m), Ben Nevis (1345m), Carrauntoohil (1038m) & Helvellyn (950m) within 48 hours. Kings Ferry, part of National Express Transport Solutions, operated the hire to the pleasure of CEO Bill Hill and his fellow challengers.
Throughout the trip, the challengers enjoyed executive coach travel as a 77-seater double-decker coach transported them from Chester Racecourse where they then travelled overnight to Ben Nevis where their summits of 4 mountains across 4 days began.
The nature of the client’s hire, 4 mountains in 48 hours, meant that 2 drivers were needed to ensure the journey was completed in enough time for challengers to get from point to point. After battling the various obstacles, Lighthouse challengers were met with a warm and cosy coach where they could unwind and get some rest before their next climb.
The nature of the hire and the travel requirements of Lighthouse challengers meant that the Kings Ferry’s 14m coach was not able to enter Cronins Yard at the base of the mountain. Despite this, challengers powered on in their determination to support the well-needed and beneficial charity.
Well done to all Four Peaks challengers who raised over £82,000!
By opting for coach travel the Lighthouse Charity saved on average:
