National Express has successfully achieved ISO 45001 certification from the British Assessment Bureau, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining the highest standards in occupational health and safety across its UK coach operations.

The internationally recognised certification reflects the leading scheduled coach operator’s robust approach to managing health and safety risks across its network and protecting colleagues, contractors and customers from harm.

National Express’ recent assessment demonstrated full compliance against all ISO 45001 requirements with zero non-conformances, demonstrating its ongoing efforts to continually improve in providing safer operations, increased customer satisfaction and improved operational efficiency.

Javier Martinez Prieto, Managing Director for National Express UK Coach, said:

“The ISO 45001 certification marks a significant milestone in our efforts to continually improve health and safety across our organisation and reflects the hard work that our teams put in to keep safety at the heart of everything that we do.

“Operating the UK’s biggest scheduled coach network means that we have hundreds of vehicles on the road each day, with many colleagues and partners helping to maintain the highest levels of safety and performance that we are known for.

“This certification affirms our commitment to protecting our people and maintaining the highest industry standards while providing the many thousands of safe, reliable services that we deliver every single day.”

Tom Crockford, Chief Operations Officer for Amtivo, said:

“Achieving ISO 45001 highlights an organisation’s dedication to excellence and continual improvement and this certification reinforces National Express’ commitment to excellence, continual improvement and meeting internationally recognised standards.”

To achieve certification to ISO 45001 standard, organisations must undergo a comprehensive multi-stage assessment of various areas of workplace health and safety including operational risk controls and management, leadership, safety awareness and regulatory compliance, and continual performance evaluation.
